Hi y’all, this is gonna be some real shit

This blog is one of the most impressive accomplishments of my life.

It was a million years ago that I noticed there weren’t really any good Facts of Life resources on the Internet, and I resolved to start a blog. It was summer of 2014 that I finally kicked it off, and even though I’ve hidden under rocks at various times during the past four years, this blog is still Alive and Kicking.

If you read the posts I have managed to get up the last few months, you will see all the signs that I was struggling. Indeed, the last several months have been the most difficult of my entire life as I endured betrayal and ultimately a split from my husband. It’s for the best, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard as hell. The divorce papers are filed and we’re a little less than a month into the ninety-day waiting period imposed among adults who choose to prematurely end this particular contract by agreement. I have moved to the city and am, I hope, very close to getting a job.

So here I go, back onto a solo path that I’d previously envisioned but set aside for a while to try something else. But it was during this eight-year relationship that I finally began to write this blog, and it remains an accomplishment of which I am incredibly proud. I make myself angry when I don’t devote enough time to it, so a crucial part of my new venture in life will be to make sure this blog is updated.

I know I’ve made these promises before. But I mean it, for reals. I’m getting better at adulting. Just yesterday I fixed my own ceiling fan!
